Vikings Roll, Beckham Struggles

The Minnesota Vikings continued to look like a Super Bowl contender while Odell Beckham Jr. continued to look like an angry middle-schooler on Monday night when the Vikings defeated the Giants 24-10.

The Vikings defense has looked dominant in every one of their first four games. They’ve stymied the Packers’ Aaron Rodgers, the Panthers’ Cam Newton and now the Giants’ Eli Manning. They look like they are up for the challenge of taking on the Denver Broncos for the title of best defense in the NFL. Sam Bradford has limited turnovers and replacement running backs Jerrick McKinnon and Matt Asiata have done a good enough of job of moving the ball. The Vikings will be a team to reckon with come January.

On the other hand, the Giants are reeling. They’ve now lost their last two games to bring their record to an even 2-2. Star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been struggling to make plays and it’s evident he’s getting frustrated. He got a 15-yard unsportsmanlike-conduct in the second quarter after jawing with Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes. He spent most of the game being heated on the sideline and teammates like Manning were seen trying to console the talented but emotional young receiver. He finished the game with just 3 catches and 23 yards. The Giants will look to bounce back on the road next week against Green Bay while the Vikings look to stay hot next week against the Houston Texans.
